Dec 04, 2015 · Hey guys I have 2000 Tacoma 4x4 ext cab. I've recently replaced the front passenger side wheel bearing and cv axle. Since I've had the cv axle pop out of the hub 3 times. The snap ring on the shaft will still be in the groove and the axle won't pull out of the hub but pops out enough the axle flops in the hub. CV joints make loud clicking noises when the steering wheel is turned while vehicle is moving (usually when accelerating). If you put off replacing them for too long, the bearings will fall out ... Also, make sure the axle is all the way in. you might compare the location of the clip at the axle end with the original axle, if it is in a different location you will have to replace the axle, it will not work on the tercel. Manufacturing defects such as this are not unusual unfortunately. I’m afraid it’s the CV axle. I have taken a picture of it and a video of the play in it, but it won’t let me post it. It just has a bit of play that makes a noise when it’s pushed up on. Could the clicking be from the bumping of the CV (play) or would it be internal and a cause for concern?

I just bought a used 2001 Integra, but it has a problem where I hear a clicking noise when I turn (and yes I knew about this issue before I bought it -- it's supposed to be a beater and I got a good deal on it). I thought it was the CV axle, but the previous owner told me he had it replaced and it still made the noises. i hear u, pushrod, all i can say is that the "pop" feels like its in the front right axle/hub area, and its intermittent. i recently replaced the ball joints/tierods but the noise is still there. im just hoping to gain some insight before resorting to takin it to the shop. thanks for the help. i should mention its got 6"lift from tuff country & 33" tires but the cv angle looks ok.

The car drives fine, but after about 20MPH the brakes make weird noises and stopping the car is not a pleasant experience. It sounds REALLY bad, but does stop.
